One of the most important people in your business is your HR director. They are the thinking cap on top of the workforce that you have hired. They are in charge of advertising jobs available in your business, finding people, vetting them, assessing them, hiring them, training them, even offering further assessment along the way. The whole HR team is also in charge of ensuring that you as a business owner are compliant with labour and employment laws. In some businesses, the HR team can also oversee payroll. Your human resources department is your liaison between you and your employees, and without one, you might find it a bit difficult to run your business effectively.

1. You are spending a lot of time managing hiring and recruitment

As a business owner, you have your fingers in many pies for your business, but HR doesn’t have to be one. You’re going to have a lot of responsibilities on your plate as it is, adding more by hiring people is not going to help you. HR issues in your business can take a lot of your time, and passing these over to somebody who is an expert is one of the best things you can do.

2. You’re concerned about liability exposure

You are not an expert in HR issues, nor are you an expert in contractual issues. You don’t have to be. If you’re concerned about liability in your business, the best thing to do is to get advice from an HR consultant who can help. By outsourcing your human resources, you are giving this responsibility to somebody who is an expert in what they’re doing. They know the practical and the legal aspects of human resources, and finding the right outsourcing seven should be a priority.

3. You need to save some cash

Having an entire HR team in your business is going to cost you money in salaries, benefits, training, sick pay, holiday pay — you name it it’s going to cost you. If you want to save some money, outsource!

4. Your business needs a line of accountability

Employees need to know where to report a problem, and it’s not always going to be directly to you. But having a HR team, your employees will have somewhere to go to be able to get issues off their chest and have a neutral place to bring up any problems.

5. You’re not responding fast enough

When there are issues within your team, you need to be able to act on them effectively and quickly. If you’re not responding to these issues fast enough, you need to hire a team who can. By outsourcing your HR, you take this responsibility directly off your plate.
