Feeling Stuck and Can't Move Forward? Here's How to Get Going Again

Feeling stuck isn't a nice experience, especially when you feel like you’re supposed to be somewhere else. Perhaps you’ve been in a relationship that is no longer serving you for a long time, or maybe you’ve been putting up with a job that you hate. Perhaps you’ve been doing multiple similar things that have led you to feeling stuck all this time. If you’re not sure how to move forward from this position, yet feel it’s the time to make a change in your life, read on for some advice.

Figure Out Why You Feel So Stuck

If you can, write out why you feel stuck. Is it the work you’re doing, the company you work for, where you live, or something else? If you can get specific, write it all out. You could then brainstorm solutions. Could you ask your boss for less work or a different kind of work? Could you start job hunting in another city?

Move Forward — Without Having it All Figured Out

Although it could help for you to figure out exactly what’s bothering you, you don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward. Don’t be afraid to try new things and meet new people. Even making small changes each day can make a huge difference over the course of one year.

Start A New Hobby

A new hobby doesn’t have to be life changing, but it could always catapult you in a new and exciting direction. You might find something you never knew you were good at, and something you’d like to stick to for the long term. Even getting out of your regular routine sometimes can be a big help and could help you to feel more positive about the rest of your life.

Speak To Somebody You Trust

If you have a friend or family member that you trust, speaking to them could help you to get more clarity on your situation. If you don’t want to speak to a friend or family member, getting a Psychic Reading might sound extreme, but could give you advice you never knew you needed. If you don’t want to do that, you could always speak to yourself - journaling can be a great way to get out of your head and pinpoint things you could change about your situation.

Get Away From It All

Maybe you just need a break from your current situation. Running away won’t make your problems go away, but it could help you to get some space from your current situation and get some more clarity. When you’re on a beach, hiking, or camping out, you can feel so far removed from your own life that answers easily come to you. Just get away for a bit and see how you feel.

Try To Think Less and Feel More

Thinking can be the death of creativity and happiness. We need to think, but overthinking is a bad habit. Try to get out of your head and into your feelings. Pay attention to what feels good and try to move away from things that don’t feel good.
