How to Build a Unique Brand Identity?

Hanna-Amanda P. G. June 23, 2020

When you need to blow your nose do you ask for a tissue or a Kleenex? When you want a drink do you ask for a soda or a Coca-Cola? Some brands are so well-known that they automatically enter our language and become the default name for the products they sell. They achieve the highest possible level of brand awareness and that helps them to become widely successful. If you’re serious about your business, you will want to do the same.

Traditionally, if you wanted to build brand awareness you would need to sink a lot of time, money and effort into creating display ads for billboards and TV, and maybe by producing high-quality radio jingle, but today things are a little different and there are many more things you can do to build brand awareness and ensure the name of your company is on everyone’s lips.

You won’t become the next Coca-Cola or Nike overnight, but if you implement the strategies below to build brand awareness, you will get ahead of the competition:

Build a Unique Personality

Building a unique personality for your brand will make it so much easier for you to catch the attention of your audience. You could do this by making your brand funny, by setting out an ethical framework your business abides by or being a bit cheeky — it doesn’t matter as long as you do something that makes your brand stand out in an instantly recognisable way that fits your products and aligns with the personalities of your target audience.

Get Involved in Coral Videos

In 2018, a study found that a mind-boggling 85 percent of Americans watched videos online, and in 2019 it was found that no less than 45.6 million people in the UK consume digital videos, which means if you want to grab attention and build brand awareness you definitely need to enlist the help of a company like R6 Digital videography who can make impressive viral videos for you. The more shareable you can make video content the more uniquely you it is, the more likely it will be to boost your brand awareness.

Throw Out Some Freebies

Who doesn’t love something free? If your brand can give away something that is valuable, desirable and shareable on social media, you can bet that people will flock to follow you online, visit you at trade events, and ultimately keep your brand name at the front of their minds.

Give Some Guest Content Away

Most of us consume online content on a regular basis, and most of us have our go-to websites that we visit time and time again. Your company can take advantage of this fact by creating really high-level guest content that improves the reader’s life in some way, whether that be by entertaining them, solving a problem they have or educating them in some way. You can then post this content on a popular blog or website and include links to your business or a brand logo, for example, thus establishing your company as an authority and building a solid brand awareness at the same time.

Building your brand will take a significant investment, but the payoff when your company becomes the go-to name for a product or service will be huge.
